On June 10, 2025, a meaningful milestone was reached in Jeremie, Grand’Anse, Haiti, as 15 local healthcare facilities received vital medical tools through the Equipping the Caregivers initiative. This joint effort, led by the Dalton Foundation in collaboration with the Haiti Health Network and Americares, reflects a powerful partnership committed to equipping frontline healthcare workers with the tools they need to deliver quality care.

Each attending doctor and nurse received a comprehensive kit containing diagnostic essentials such as blood pressure monitors, thermometers, stethoscopes, oximeter. Each healthcare facility also received a nebulizer, otoscope, and a diabetic care package including glucose meters, test strips, lancets, and insulin syringes.

These tools will directly support their ability to assess, diagnose, and treat patients on-site—greatly reducing the need for costly and often inaccessible referrals to regional hospitals.

The impact was immediately felt. Healthcare workers and Ministry of Health representatives expressed deep gratitude, emphasizing how this support would significantly improve care delivery and reduce the strain on overburdened referral hospitals. In a region where medical resources are scarce, this initiative not only delivered equipment—it renewed morale, built trust, and reinforced commitment.

As one provider shared, “This strengthens our motivation and capacity to serve vulnerable communities. It’s more than a kit—it’s hope.”

This distribution is a testament to what’s possible through collaboration. By working together, the Dalton Foundation, Haiti Health Network, and Americares continue to drive meaningful change—ensuring caregivers are equipped, patients are seen, and communities are served with dignity.
